Abstract

• Burnout is likely when the job characteristics do not mesh well with personality characteristics of the individual. • Identify those who are risk for burnout because burnout may contribute to worsening job performance and health issues. • A well-lived life balances one’s professional life with the personal life: personal growth and renewal are essential for maintaining this balance and may include not just time outside of work, but things like travel, family life, and other avocations or hobbies.
