Abstract

Background: Quality of life (QoL) is a complex, multidimensional construct that is characterized by subjectivity. It is important to investigate the QoL of nursing professionals in primary health care because it contributes to the promotion of their health, with an impact on the population. Objectives: To analyze the QoL of nursing professionals working in the family health strategy. Methodology: Exploratory, cross-sectional, and descriptive study with a quantitative approach. The sample consisted of 85 nursing professionals working in the family health strategy in the municipality of Macaé/RJ/Brazil. Data were collected using the WHOQOL-BREF developed by the World Health Organization, which included information about the sociodemographic profile. Results: For nurses, the highest mean score was found in the Social relationships domain. In the Psychological domain, only nursing technicians had the highest mean scores. All of the professionals had the lowest mean scores in the Environment domain. Conclusion: Primary health care managers should invest more in interventions aimed at promoting these professionals’ health and QoL.
