Abstract

IS professionals must possess a broad range of skills in order to contribute to organizations experiencing rapid changes in both organizational structures and processes and information systems technologies. This paper considers the kinds of skills provided by traditional approaches to IS educational and discusses the shortcomings of those approaches. It proposes a model for IS teaching to supporting the needs of future IS professionals, focusing on the process by which we deliver IS education.
