Abstract

This study analyzes the sound pattern of language or phonology in Down syndrome children in SLB Untung Tuah Samarinda. Language skills in children with Down syndorme are the lowest. Phonology is a linguistic study that studies, examine, discusses, and analyzes the sounds of language produced by human speech implements. Therefore, through the study of this science, researchers will analyze it. The purpose of this study is to describe the sound patterns and patterns of phonological aberrations in the student's outlook for Down syndrome in SLB Untung Tuah Samarinda. This research uses fishing technique, tapping record, and refer to note. The data obtained is then analyzed by using the articulator phonetic pad method with the basic technique is the decisive element technique, while the advanced technique is the appeal technique. From the results of research obtained that the sound patterns of language and patterns of phonological irregularities in Down syndrome children in SLB Untung Tuah Samarinda differ according to intelligence ability. The deviations that occur in the speech of the child's down syndrome are phonemic removal, phoneme changes, and phoneme addition. Phoneme removal is at K = l, b, h, s, r, d, t, p and V = O, u, U, i. The addition of vowel and consonant phonemes that often appear in the speech of Down syndrome children in SLB Untung Tuah is K = h, b, p, k? and V = a and u. The phonemic and vowel changes that often appear in the speech of the Down syndrome child in SLB Untung Tuah are K = j → s, r → h, r → l, O → U, a → e. Kata kunci: language, phonology, down syndrome.
