Local authorities have an increasing importance both in safeguarding the interest of the older adults and in providing direct assistance when needed. This paper reports an experimental study aiming to implement information applications to help local authorities to support community-dwelling older adults. For that, it was applied: (i) good practices pertaining to new technological developments; and (ii) healthcare standards to guarantee the interoperability of the resulting social care information. The results point that Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR) presents several resources that might be used to model the required social care information.
