Abstract

The 3D measurement methods are very important in many fields. In particular, the methods based on 3D reconstruction from camera images are actively studied because these are passive detection methods and does not require expensive equipments. However, in order to achieve high accuracy, camera parameter calibration is very important. In this paper, we have proposed a new calibration method based on maximum likelihood estimation and confirmed the effectiveness by experiments. © 2009 Springer Berlin Heidelberg.
