Abstract

Synthesis of acrylic polymers based on acrylonitrile; polymerization procedures, polymer properties, spinning method, properties of fibers and their applications; industrial methods for producing acrylonitrile monomer from ethylene oxide and hydrogen cyanide (HCN) acetylene and HCN, acetaldehyde and HCn, and from propylene by using three processes-Distillers, Sohio and duPont methods; bulk, emulsion, suspension and solution polymerization of acrylonitrile and its modification products; preparation of spinning solution and wet and dry spinning methods; properties, testing and applications of acrylic fibers.
