Abstract

The results of several surveys in the forest and alpine region in SW Ethiopian mountains are used for the demonstration of various ecological problems, mainly the gradual or abrupt changes of some features of the plant formations with increasing altitude. The need for taking fundamental ecological data as a basis for a "disturbance management' is emphasized. -Author
