Abstract

Printed materials are an important part of the curriculum resources for online education. However, the printed materials currently used for online education are with few characteristics and the quality needs to be improved. The paper conducts a survey to find out students' perceptions about the printed materials in use and expectations for ideal printed materials. Based on the data analysis from the survey as well as an examination of the status of printed materials in online education, its integration with the online education technology and the compilation of such printed materials, the paper proposes a new way to design printed materials so as to change the current situation. © Springer Science+Business Media Dordrecht 2014.
