Abstract

This paper aims to describe the results obtained through the development of a software tool for the industrial sector. It is specifically oriented to the market focused on the railway signaling and safety. The general objective of this tool is trying to achieve an effort reduction during the testing process which is of great importance in the software development within this sector. Therefore, its specific purpose is simulating the behavior of the conventional signaling elements which rule the traffic in railways in such a way that the results obtained were as close as possible to the ideal condition. Thanks to this simulation mechanism it would be possible to reduce the number of trips to the field to do real tests. This way time and economic optimizations are achieved by the users of this tool. © 2012 Springer-Verlag.
