Reviews the book, Promoting Psychological Well-Being in Children with Acute and Chronic Illness by Melinda Edwards and Penny Titman (see record [rid]2010-19672-000[/rid]). The purpose of this book is to set forward a comprehensive review of current research and clinical practice in supporting children and young people with acute or chronic illness. It also aims to enable the reader to make links to effective practice through relevant suggestions or guidelines, hence applying the research findings to a practical provision level. One small critique is the use of the term ‘‘children’’ in the book title and to a certain degree throughout the book itself rather than the more commonly used term ‘‘children and young people’’. The book does address the needs of adolescents as well as younger children and therefore this title does not give the measure of the full scope of the case studies and observations used.
