Abstract

This work analyses the impact of christocentric religiosity in the devote practices of Spanish Religious Orders, especially in the case of Jesuits and Franciscans. The penitence and pray imposed to the young clerics from the very moment they joined the orders took as a central subject the imitatio Christi. Its study permits to understand not only the models of conversion in the Postridentine period but also the doctrine and practices diffused by the clerics in their apostolic activities.
