This chapter gives history of my research on data mining, which was started from 1989 when I graduated from Osaka University, School of Medicine. In order to deal with electronization of all clinical data and records, I started to develop analytic techniques to extract knowledge useful for medical decision making. Firstly, I focused on rule induction and then moved into temporal data mining. The achievements are shown in this chapter.
