Characterization of a linear differential system with a regular singularity

Abstract

Two methods are known for determining if a singularity of a linear differential system is regular, and finding the regularizing transformation. The cyclic vector method is complete in principle, but very expensive. We present another method applicable in most cases (including all with n≤3), which finds much simpler transforms.
