Abstract

This paper summarizes the essence of a recent game theoretic explanation of free choice readings of disjunctions under existential modals ([8]). It introduces principles of game model construction to represent the context of utterance, and it spells out the basic mechanism of iterated best response reasoning in signaling games. © 2010 Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg.
