Abstract

To tackle problems such as isolated data islands in tourism as so much assorted data should be processed, it is constructed a platform that can share data and information of tourism resources. XML and Web Services are getting more and more attentions in many fields such as enterprise, e-government and so on as their great expressive ability in data and services. In this paper, the integrated tourism data processing platform based on XML and Web Services is described. Compared with others, it is efficient as semistructured data description is convenient and simple for data processing, sharing and exchanging. Then, a case study is described to illustrate how the integration mechanism can be applied in practice. At last, some open issues and future work are discussed.
