Abstract

The charging and motion characteristics of dielectric particles in the ion flow induced by corona discharge from AC transmission lines are the key parameters for investigating the corona effect and establishing the calculation model for corona characteristics. In this paper, a mathematical physical model for investigating the charging and motion characteristics of dielectric particles in the AC ion flow was established. On this basis, the influence of different roughness coefficients of conductors, voltages applied to conductors, different types of conductors, initial position of particles, multiple voltage periods, particle property on charging, and motion characteristics of dielectric particles were acquired. The research results can provide a reference for establishing the model for calculating the corona characteristics.
