Abstract

A new scheme for vertical dispersion and dry deposition of atmospheric aerosols was recently developed by the authors (Kouznetsov and Sofiev, J Geophys Res 117:D01202, 1, 2012). The vertical transport scheme and deposition scheme for smooth and water surfaces are based on the exact solution of the steady-flux equation. The scheme for deposition onto rough surfaces uses a universal empirical function and two parameters describing the surface: aerodynamic roughness length and a "collection scale" that describes the surface elements. In present paper we briefly outline the scheme with some improvements of accounting for the deposition due to inertial impaction. © Springer Science+Business Media Dordrecht 2014.
