Abstract

This chapter considers the views and educational policy of the Jesuit Université Saint-Joseph (USJ), with its influence on Lebanese nationalism and its close link to French government, culture, and language. Through this brief consideration it is possible to highlight some main points of distance from Hegel’s views, and a closer connec- tion with the views of the Enlightenment.
