Abstract

This article is a continuation of the Author’s work on the ways to ensure quality and safety of aeronautical data and information. This time, however, attention was paid to the steady increase in the amount of collected and processed data in intelligent air transport systems, its causes and the resulting consequences. Aeronautical data and information were described in details - documents in which they appear, proposed classification categories, types and their end users. It was noticed that the currently occurring excess of data in air telematic systems generates a problem with their adoption and processing. Consequently, the more important becomes the issue of their quality (timeliness, accuracy, completeness, origin, …) assurance. That is why, in the following part of the paper, requirements were characterized as well as procedures, methods, principles and tools for quality assessment were described. Afterwards the case when requirements are not meet was considered, for which, taking into account the background obligation to implement Safety Management System and Quality Management System – Compliance Monitoring System by all air operators, the concept of data incompatibility management procedure was presented. Analysed issues will be the subject of Author’s further study.
