Abstract

The paper is an attempt at tracing the history of interactive television. The lead that is followed is the various experimental attempts with and the commercial launches of interactive television that have been conducted, as well as the results that have been achieved. This will be done by identifying the various historical phases with different characteristic technological waves, business models, services and contents concepts. © 2008 Springer-Verlag.
