Introduction: The nursing process (NP) is a systematic method where nursing care considered to satisfy the patient's needs. With this research, we hope to identify which are the flaws that may interfere in good care and patient care, and the desire to provide quality care. Objective: Identify the degree of nursing professional's knowledge about the NP and its applicability at the «Clínica La Inmaculada» and promote the use of NP in nursing professionals. Material and methods: Non-experimental, cross-sectional study and exploratory scope that seeks to specify the knowledge that nurses currently have about NP and standardized language, through an evaluation, with a sample of 12 nurses from the «Clínica La Inmaculada». Results: The average of correct answers was 69%. Most of the nurses (86%) showed knowledge in the general concepts of the NP. In the sub-theme related to the assessment stage, the percentage of assertiveness was 44%, in the diagnostic 72%, planning 83%, and evaluation 67%. Conclusions: To evaluate the knowledge of nurses about the NP, allowed to analyze that nursing professionals have opportunities for improvement in this subject. Likewise, it was identified that limitations of a conceptual nature are presented, since the average of correct answers was 69. (English) [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
