Abstract

Two selfassembled redoxactive cages are presented. They are obtained by coordinationdriven selfassembly of a tetrapyridile tetrathiafulvalene ligand with cisM (dppf)(OTf)2 (M = Pd or Pt; dppf = 1,1′bis(diphenylphosphino)ferrocene; OTf = trifluoromethanesulfonate) complexes. Both species are fully characterized and are constituted of 12 electroactive subunits that can be reversibly oxidized. © 2014 by the authors; licensee MDPI, Basel, Switzerland.
