Abstract

A symposium was conducted in order to provide a forum for the presentation of new developments in the area of erosion processes which involve fluid flow. The erosion processes resulting from flow of fluids are encountered in nature and many industrial processes. The common features erosion processes are the interaction of the fluid with the surface and loss of material from the surface. The erosion could be detrimental to the equipment used in slurry flows. It can also be beneficial if used for metal forming, surface cleaning such as sand blasting, or metal cutting with high speed jets.
