Abstract

Testing is an important phase during the development of software. Testing is performed at different levels of abstraction - unit, integration and system levels. In this paper, we use Aspect-Oriented Programming (AOP) using AspectJ, for automated testing of Java program at unit level. This paper focuses on testing the execution details of loop join point. We use variables of type static for the testing of loop join point. We observed that using an aspect (a modularizing unit) improves the overall understanding of loop join points, makes the crosscutting concern explicit and reduces code tangling. © 2012 Springer-Verlag GmbH.
