Abstract

The paper provides an overview of the present knowledge about biological mechanisms of probiotics’ ac- tion. The data indicates that the effects of probiotics are strictly connected to the immunologic mechanisms. Probiotics are the immunomodulatiors, but the mechanisms of immunomodulation have not been fully elu- cidated yet.
