Abstract

The main objective of this study was to analyze the perceptions of gender equity in students who are pursuing a degree on education in a Private University in Chile. A qualitative exploratory study was developed, using grounded theory for the analysis of the data. The results indicate that participants of this study recognize a structure of gender inequality. Also, they see themselves reproducing some gender stereotypes. This type of findings makes the need to deconstruct stereotypes based in gender issues to promote pedagogical practices that encourage greater gender equity in the classroom.
