Abstract

Lori Prodan a tutor in the TELL/PBL cohort was a seconded elementary teacher from the Vancouver School District. In this chapter, the author outlines her case - what do I know, what do I need to know, and how will I learn it - in adapting to the transition from instructor to tutor and provides an overview of some of the issues facing a teacher educator who takes on the role of PBL tutor. At the end of Lori’s first year as tutor, she spoke with her tutorial group about their experience with PBL and about how they saw the role of the tutor and the tutorial sessions. Throughout this chapter, she shares some of their insights and perspectives as compared and contrasted to her own.
