Abstract

The main purpose of this article is to propose the conceptual categories of meta-security and meta-violence applied to the case of VRAEM in Peru, after the end of the Sendero Luminoso. To accomplish the above, this paper is expected to answer the following question: Why the VRAEM region is constituted as a space in which trekking has mutated and represents a threat for the Peruvian security operators? This research incorporates theoretical and empirical perspectives around the mutation and transformation of violence and security, especially in the region of the Apurímac, Ene and Mantaro Valley.
