Abstract

The author briefly discusses the development of the theory of mass transfer with chemical reaction. This is followed by the main topics of the course taught by the author. These topics are: mathematical models of mass transfer; enhancement of mass transfer rates; and gas-liquid system with chemical reaction. The chemistry of a few important cases, such as reactions of carbonates or ethanolamines with hydrogen sulfide or carbon dioxide, is discussed briefly.
