Abstract

-Technik ist nicht nur mittel zum Zweck (und daher wertneutral) sondern entsteht in bestimmeten Bedingungen 255 -Bessesnheit bei Informatikern 256 -'feeling god-like' 257 -being able to create (Easlea, Janshen) -the socialisation circumstances which allow women to participate in computing are low 258 -therefore female students need to be more suited and better qualified..nevertheless eventhough they are selected more throughly they do not advance faster 258 -259 contributions to computing by women as in Hoffman 87 -'fachliche Gleichheit, soziale Differenz' 259 in Metz-Göckel 85 -natürlicher Zugang zum Computer: Mädel gehen planerisch vor aber Jung trial and error....Jungens müssen dann den planerischen Style lernen p 260 (that means that turkle is right as far as the academic discipline is concerend) -in maths we do have a high participaiton of women, although the department is condiered as powerful p 262 (is that really the case??) -technology and power are interwoven (military) 267 -at least 15% women to make an impact on the style of thinking -research in schools: 40% of the girls, 21% of the boys first solve the problem theoretically and then do it. 35% of the boys only use planning when hacking fails (qeustionnaire) -however the participants believed that girls are doers and boys are thinkers -they assume that this misconception is based on classical role stereotypes (however Turkle observed them actually, not just saying but doing)
