Abstract

The hvMuseum, an online platform for data collection and exhibition, empowers Internet users from around the world with opportunities for curatorial, contributory, and appreciatory types of museum participation. With unique, authentic and up-to-date information contributed by the locals of various countries, and displayed in a two-dimensional matrix for horizontal and vertical comparisons, the hvMuseum facilitates a viewer's inductive thinking that leads to learning opportunities and appreciation of the breadth and diversities of natural and man-made artifacts. © 2011 Springer-Verlag.
