Diagnosis of a melanocytic lesion that is clinically barely visible or nonpigmented is particularly difficult. A list of simulators of amelanotic melanoma [1] has been published. It is also a rare condition, with an estimated occurrence between 2 and 8% of the melanomas [2]. These issues lead to a delay in the diagnosis and a subsequently worse prognosis.
