Abstract

Aiming at the assembly efficiency of industrial gears, the meshing assembly algorithms of industrial gears based on image recognition were proposed to realize the assembly of industrial gears by industrial robots with the guide of machine vision. In this design, working area were photographed, and then the images were processed. The obtained coordinates of gear edge were converted with the curve fitting, and the initial phase of the curve was calculated. According to the properties of gears and the initial phase difference between two curves, the rotation angle of gears could be calculated. Using simulation method, the precision and error of meshing assembly according to the algorithms could be calculated, and a margin of error of the rotation angle by simulation could be fallen within 0.01°.
