Abstract

Bridges by design are the means for connecting one place to another. The worldwide members of Women in Nuclear (WiN) have a common commitment to connect with the public and provide information on the uses of nuclear technologies through one-on-one communication. WiN communication is a balanced integration of emotion and reason that informs people on three different levels: ethical values and emotions; economics; and technical. This paper will review how the members of WiN are building bridges to enhance the public perception and understanding of nuclear technologies by Engaging the public one-on-one with a message that connects and communicates, E = mc2.
