Abstract

Philosophy and Narrative Fiction: The best literature of fiction has a philosophical value, that is the main thesis proposed in this paper. The narrative structure is analysed as a human way of learning in ethic matters. The Aristotle's Poetic pointed at this goal, and modern reflexion about fiction stressed the relation tying fictive narrative and the deepest truth of human existence. The literature of fiction could have therefore ethical effects in readers; in some instances these effects are focused in the search of truth as freely assumed attitude.
