Abstract

The Spanish culture transfer to the new American territories -with its significant evangelizing burden- did not happen in an automatic nor mechanical way. It passed through different filters, one of them was femenine. This article is intended to be a challenge for those wishing to undertake the study of inculturation in a different way to that of the traditional way, more towards keeping with the new historiographic parameters. More complete, perhaps? Role of the woman in the marriage, in the family, in the education or in the social assistance during the process of colonisation (of what the article offers several examples) needs, thus, be studied with greater depth and, of course, opens new perspectives for the un-derstanding of the American continent during the Spanish command.
