Abstract

As the amount and variety of interactive educational software grows, sodoes the need to assess the usability of the software. The usability ofeducational software can be defined as the extent to which the softwarecan be used to achieve specified learning outcomes effectively,efficiently and with user satisfaction. This paper discusses theevaluation of the usability of interactive educational software andproposes a method for formal usability testing of such software that hasbeen successfully used at the University of Port Elizabeth (UPE). Afterdescribing the method, it presents a case study to illustrate theimplementation of the proposed method.
