The text sets out and explain the implications for freedom of expression on the emergence of regulation from social media companies. What becomes relevant in the face of the implosion of Internet and its concentration on some social networks, which to that extent control the online freedom of expression of its millions of users around the world. The regulation of freedom of expression in the 21st century is a triangle, where the subjects are submitted to the state regulations and the rules of social media companies. It is a change in the foundations of freedom of expression that requires broad reflection on its meaning, scopes and required legal adjustments, where the proposal to apply international human rights law to the business regulation of freedom of expression on the Internet becomes important.
