Abstract

Most of the factories implement hybrid organizations that include one or more elements of the well known integrated organizations (craft production, mass production, just-in-time). This paper presents a new intelligent system that helps to conceive the appropriate hybrid organization for a factory. The suggested system is a knowledge base connected to a set of system dynamics models with neural network structure, named intelligent reference models. The knowledge base verifies if the logics of the current factory organization matches a reference model. If yes, a simulation by optimization of the reference model allows to conceive the appropriate organization for the factory.
