Abstract

Abstract Ice-crystal nuclei and other substances found in snow crystals collected in Japan were observed with an electron microscope and identified by means of their electron diffraction-patterns. Among the nuclei observed, clay particles were predominant. Besides these nuclei, minute particles were often found in snow crystals. They were identified as particles of sodium chloride and clays.
