The knowledge about primary and secondary Sjogren's syndrome in Israel is well established by physicians of all specialties. Studies from Israel have dealt with both clinical and scientific patterns of the disease. Many studies have been published exploring the various inflammatory markers both in the saliva and in the tear fluid trying to assess disease activity. Studies on the prevalence of various autoantibodies in this disease and their similarity to other autoimmune disorders shed more light on the concept of ``the mosaic of autoimmunity.{''}
