Abstract

There has been a lack of consensus on how to build a computer-aided instruction (CAI) system for translation. Reviewing existing researches on computer-assisted translation teaching, the author divides these tools or technologies into "top-quality course" sites, computer-aided translation, general-purpose courseware, data-driven translation learning and intelligent translation learning tools. Combining tools with translation studies, this paper proposes a CAI system for translation teaching. It describes various functional modules that are expected to enable self-access learning of translation learners. © 2011 Springer-Verlag.
