Abstract

The Graphic Design Program at the University of South Florida, Saint Petersburg utilizes Socratic Questioning to develop lifelong learners. In today's society lifelong learners continually are re-examining their knowledge and developing their critical thinking skills. The Graphic Design Program teaches the Socratic Questioning methodology so students are able to develop higher-level thinking in their design work. This implementation of higher-level questioning allows the students to critically analyze their ideology of design. © 2011 Springer-Verlag.
