Abstract

Abstrack-The need for smartphones to support various human activities in daily life has become something that cannot be separated. Various models of smartphones that are present in the market today need to be considered according to the needs of the people. Indonesian people's purchasing power of smartphones tends to come from the lower segment of society who generally prefers to choose smartphones that are in the price range of 1-3 million Rupiah. In the second quarter of 2021, smartphone shipments in Indonesia grew by 28% compared to the second quarter of 2020. To find out what smartphone suits the needs, it can be done by making a system using the forward chaining and decision tree methods. That way whether the two methods are able to provide precise and accurate smartphone results. The result of this research is a web-based system where the author conducts testing with blackbox testing and community satisfaction surveys. The result is that the system is successful without any problems and the collected respondent data shows an accuracy of 95% in helping users make smartphone choices. The conclusion of this research is that a smartphone model fits the user's choice, and that way the user will be helped before buying a smartphone.
