Abstract

Low learning outcomes can be influenced by interest in learning and student self-efficacy. This study aims to determine the effect of interest in learning and self-efficacy on social studies learning outcomes for fifth grade students in the Thousand Islands Administrative District. This research uses a survey research design with a quantitative approach. The population of this study were all fifth grade elementary school students in the Thousand Islands Administrative District with a total of 169 students using a purposive sampling technique with a total of 157 students. Data collection uses non-test and test instruments to measure social studies learning outcomes that have been tested. The data analysis of this research using regression analysis technique. The results of this study are first, there is an effect of interest in learning on social studies learning outcomes for fifth grade students in the Thousand Islands Administrative District of 63.7% and 36.3% of the influence comes from other factors. Second, there is an effect of self-efficacy on social studies learning outcomes of fifth grade students in the Thousand Islands Administrative District of 67% and 33% of the influence comes from other factors. Third, there is an influence of interest in learning and self-efficacy on social studies learning outcomes for fifth grade students in the Thousand Islands Administrative District of 79% and the remaining 21% influence comes from other factors. This research is expected to be a concern for teachers to be able to pay attention to learning interest and self-efficacy to support student learning achievement.
