Abstract

Payment models and associated episode period changes have placed pressures on home care agencies with respect to data collection and documentation burden. Related topics of interest to the human factors community therefore are worthy of investigation in the home care space. In addition to more traditional human factors studies, multidisciplinary collaborative research on the impact of payments models is necessary to ensure that issues related to documentation burden are eliminated and that home care agencies can continue to provide care to the millions of homebound patients needing their help.
