Abstract

Wireless communications from generation to generation up to the fifth depend on the increase band width output and lower latency, which have been achieved through the development and addition of new technologies on the dedicated channels. The fluctuating nature of the available range and the varied quality of service (QoS) requirements for different applications, limited spectrum, and the spectrum resource allocation policies present challenges for radio networks. Cognitive radio (CR) is one of the keyways to optimize the spectrum to the fullest degree possible; this paper describes CR, analyzes key functions, takes measures to share spectrum, discussing the effect of CR when combined with non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) at 5G and its impact on improving the performance of satellite communications.
