Abstract

The hotel sector contributes to a sustainable society and, in turn, implements entrepreneurial practices to satisfy the client and generate economic benefits. The objective of this paper is to analyze whether entrepreneurial orientation and social responsibility are positively associated with the performance of three-star hotels and above in the border states between Mexico and the United States. For this, a Likert scale survey was designed and applied, and the method of structural equations by partial least squares was used. The results indicate that both entrepreneurial orientation and social responsibility improve the performance of hotels on both sides of the border. It is concluded that the hotels implement entrepreneurial and social responsibility practices to improve their financial and market position because they are aware of the good results obtained. Likewise, it is possible to maintain a balance between economic interests and social and environmental interests.
