Abstract

Because of Covid-19 pandemic, the World Health Organization has declared a state of public health emergency. Isolation has transformed the social relationships of children and adolescents with autism spectrum disorder. This study aimed to analyze the effects of isolation on the behavior of these individuals. This is a descriptive, cross-sectional study, in which parents or guardians answered an online questionnaire. The research results pointed out that confinement has accentuated the symptoms of autism. It is concluded that intervention measures for the subjects and their families are necessary.
